Quote of the Day

Regarding the murder of a stripper in New Orleans:

There is A LOT of victim-blaming going around, even among people in the industry. It pisses me off, but I think it’s a fear reaction. Nobody wants to ponder that they, or someone much closer to them, may be next. They want to firmly believe “This happened because she was a ‘ho. I’m not a ‘ho, my BFF isn’t a ‘ho, so we are safe. I can protect myself by simply not being a ‘ho

  1. Sex Mahoney Says:

This kind of logic is insidious and talismanic. We are all one random lightning strike away from something awful or incredible.

  2. Jenn Says:

You can’t control fate, but you can absolutely tempt it by going into certain professions, or engaging in certain behaviors. I won’t blame the victim for what happened to her, because, honestly, it’s not her fault. She made the mistake of trusting the wrong people. The people who hurt her are the ones who should be lit into.
